Here at Glimpse we don’t like to pick favorites when it comes to cities. There are so many vibrant, energetic spots across the globe – who can say which one is best? But let’s be honest – it’s almost impossible to beat New York during the holidays. The Big Apple turns into a place that is truly magical from Thanksgiving to New Years. Whether it’s the lights all along the trees on Park Avenue, the tree at Rockefeller Center, the holiday market in Union Square or ice skating in Central Park – you kind of feel like you’re stepping into a holiday movie on every block. Since visiting New York this time of year is such a treat, we decided to do a roundup of our absolute favorite hotels to stay at, with your family of course, during the holiday season. We’ve included a list below with just a peek into some of the special offerings that are sure to make the holiday season that much more special for you and your family.
The Carlyle is in Manhattan’s Upper East Side just one block away from Central Park. The hotel is iconic and has hosted distinguished guests including every American president since Truman as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Rooms range from a king size or a room with 2 twins to a 2-story suite with a full kitchen and study.
Dining: The Carlyle has a wide variety of special dinners and events throughout the holiday season ranging from a Thanksgiving lunch or dinner to a bubbly brunch on New Years Day
Holiday Activities: the family-friendly activities at the hotel are largely in conjunction with meals. There are three seatings of the Christmas Day meal featuring Santa Claus and a variety of different New Years Eve options depending on how late you’d like your family to stay awake that night. The New Years Eve dinner at 6pm is probably the best bet for families with smaller tots, featuring both adult and children’s menu options.
Crosby Street Hotel
Smack dab in the heart of SoHo, the Crosby Street Hotel is a fabulous spot for those families that prefer to be downtown. Although Crosby St. itself tends to be a bit quieter, the busyness of Broadway is only one block away. The two bedroom suites offer 1,100 square feet and are well-designed with great views of lower Manhattan.
Dining: Crosby Street is offering special menus for both Thanksgiving and New Years Eve.
Activities: the hotel offers a variety of family-friendly treats including a children’s menu, BluRays and popcorn for the nights you want to stay in and be cozy, as well as children’s books, board games, children’s bathrobes and toiletries and babysitting services.
The Four Seasons Hotel New York

The St Regis New York
Located steps away from some of New York’s best shopping on 5th Avenue, the St Regis is a beautiful hotel with a very classic and timeless sensibility. Rooms are spacious and there are multi-room suites that promise a bit more breathing room than the average NYC hotel.
