Upscale restaurant?
Luke's Oyster Bar & Chophouse at Gemmill Lane - American style seafood and steaks...everything is FAB, but pricey!!!
Jim Thompson at Dempsey Hill - Thai food in a fun, Asian atmosphere
Chop Suey at Dempsey Hill - American style Chinese in a cool black and white / historic Singapore style
Ce La Vi at the top of Marina Bay Sands hotel - get a lychee martini, take in the wonderful view and order some sushi rolls...

Casual restaurant?
PS Cafe at Dempsey Hill
Wild Honey at Scotts Square Mall in Orchard area - great coffee, brunch, juices
Pizzeria Mozza in Marina Bay Sands mall - Mario Batali's place...all of the pizzas are FAB!  If you go with kids, sit at the bar and watch them make the pizzas
No Menu Bar at Boon Tat Street - sit outside with a nice bowl of pasta and glass of wine and watch the world go by...
Lucha Loco at Duxton Hill - fun margaritas and tacos in a cute neighborhood

Restaurant with kids?
Din Tai Fung at Wisma Atria in the Orchard area or the Marina Bay Sands Mall - award winning dumplings and dim sum (fried rice and steamed dumplings are usually a hit with kids!)
The restaurant at Singapore Botanic Gardens - I believe they will even pack you a picnic basket to enjoy elsewhere in the gardens...
Margaritas at Dempsey Hill - family friendly tex mex

*best coffee shop:  Tiong Bahru Bakery in Tangs on Orchard Road - I recommend a latte and the almond chocolate croissant warmed up....!

Simone Irani at Cluny Court for resort wear, but I don't do a lot of shopping in Sing....WAY too expensive!!!
When at Marina Bay Sands, don't miss walking through the floating Louis Vuitton store...it's like a museum inside - very cool to see!

Cluny Court is full of darling boutiques for kids!

Bungalow 55 at Cluny Court - don't miss this fabulous boutique outside of Cluny along the main road...

Tips?
Allow extra time to spend in Changi airport which is consistently rated the top airport in the world...it has playgrounds, gardens, koi ponds, and wonderful shopping!  

When you first arrive in Singapore, download the Comfort Delgro Taxi app - it is THE way to book taxis and get around in Singapore!

Don't forget Rodan + Fields sunscreen and mineral peptide powder...the Asian sun is super strong!  Sunglasses, cool clothing, comfortable walking shoes / sandals and bathing suits are a must for Singapore.
